Supported Employment Program
Park Lawn’s Supported Employment Program matches individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities with employment opportunities in the community. Established in 1986, the Supported Employment Program has worked to foster mutually beneficial relationships with community businesses. The businesses gain a hardworking employee who will perform a needed task and the employee will have the opportunity to increase their skills, make an impact in their community and feel a sense of pride and accomplishment in a job well done.
Employer Satisfaction
Supported Employment employees truly appreciate and value their jobs. They have a strong sense of loyalty to their employers and enjoy going to work and giving back to their communities. Our employers have stated over and over again that our program participants set a good example for their other employees; highlighting impeccable attendance, positive attitude, workplace dedication and longevity of employment. |
Job Coach Support
A job coach is assigned to each program participant. The role of the job coach is to learn the job and teach the necessary skills for that jobs’ completion. Included in this is the development of procedures, templates, and/or communication methods which will maximize the Supported Employment employee’s job performance. The job coach also acts as a liaison between the employer and the program participant; addressing any questions or concerns and fostering a healthy working relationship. Park Lawn provides the job coach at no cost to the employer.
