Standard Bank and Trust “Holiday Hope for Park Lawn”

Seven Standard Bank and Trust branches are collecting donations to decorate their holiday trees to help complete the wish list of hope for Park Lawn’s Angel Fund. The proceeds raised for the Angel Fund will help Park Lawn individuals diagnosed with intellectual and developmental disabilities with little or no family support.

Beginning November 26 anyone can support “Holiday Hope for Park Lawn” by entering one of seven Southland Standard Bank and Trust locations and make a donation to place an ornament on the branches holiday tree. It will continue throughout the holiday season ending Friday, December 22.

Participating southland Standard Bank and Trust branches are located in Hickory Hills, Oak Lawn on 95th and 111th Street, Evergreen Park, Orland Park on 159th Street, and Palos Park at 131st and 119th Street.

Donations will help purchase much needed items for Park Lawn’s Angel Fund. This fund was created in Park Lawn’s efforts to provide a warm, caring and loving environment for individuals with multiple medical, physical and intellectual disabilities. It is the goal of Park Lawn and Standard Bank & Trust to ensure all residents feel unique, loved and valued especially when family members can no longer assist. This program makes every effort to bridge the gap between essential needs and daily living necessities.

Park Lawn residents only receive $30-$50 a month in living expenses from Social Security. That amount won’t cover the cost of a new coat, a new pair of shoes, community events or other living expenses.

Standard Bank and Trust realized that if it were not for the Angel Fund at Park Lawn, some of those who benefit might be left without resources on how to overcome their disabilities.

Employees of Standard Bank and Trust have been long time supporters of Park Lawn. The relationship began in 2009 when Standard Bank donated the tips they raised at a hospitality tent at the village of Oak Lawn’s Fall on the Green. Employees of Oak Lawn Standard Bank and Trust also volunteer at Park Lawn’s bingo, which is held every Friday, Saturday and Sunday. Branch Managers Julie Partacz and Victoria Scanlon have also joined Park Lawn’s auction committee to assist with “A Rhapsody in Blue” Auction and Dinner scheduled for February 16th.
