Recognizing Friends

Friends, family, staff, board members, politicians, program participants and community representatives gathered for Park Lawn’s Annual Recognition Breakfast at the Double Tree Hotel in Alsip.
With gratitude we thank all of our donors for their continued support. This event gives us the opportunity to select a few “special” friends who deserve a unique recognition for their exceptional support. With sincere gratitude, Park Lawn thankfully recognized the following for their continued support and generosity with awards for 2004.
The Corporate Citizenship Award was awarded to Charles Richards from the Regional and Reporter Newspapers for their significant corporate support. They continually publish special interest stories, press releases and announcements that promote Park Lawn. We attribute much of our fund raising success to this support.
Dr. Mary Dochios Kamberos graciously received the Friendship Award for providing medical treatment and care to many of our program participants when they were small children.
Our friends from UPS were awarded the Helping Hand Award for their volunteer support. This eager group has tirelessly tackled several projects at Park Lawn from painting the fence to various landscaping projects.
The Big Bikes Big Hearts Committee were the
recipientsof the Booster Award. Mark and Maria Miller, Doug and Donna Partl and Steve Bonk each year coordinate the annual poker run fund raiser for Park Lawn. Hundreds of hours are put into making this event a huge success. Over 800 riders attended the 2004 run and raised over $13,000 for Park Lawn!
Len Pearson and his Leo Club from Richards High School was awarded the Fellowship Award for their continued support. Len and his group have been involved with Park Lawn since the early 1970’s.
State Representative James Brosnahan was presented with the Spirit Award for his outstanding support and advocacy for individuals with developmental disabilities.
The top and most prestigious award was given to Chet Staron from Topline Automotive. Chet received the 2004 Ambassador Award for his support and belief in our mission. Chet employs ten Park Lawn individuals, he is the major sponsor of our annual golf invitational and he continually influences others to get involved and support individuals with developmental
disabilities.
